sorry to be a tease! we recently switched servers at my workplace (we were recently acquired by another company) and now tumblr is blocked at work :(

THE ULTIMATE BATTLE
(just don’t blink)
Angel would win, the Boo would just cover it’s face and the Angel would do it’s Angel thing with it.

thank you, dear. i miss my tumblr crew! i hope i can return soon!
lovingembrace asked: I must say, you are quite fabulous indeed.
thanks! too bad i won’t be updating much for a while :(
in case you’re wondering about my silence the last couple days, i think i need to take a hiatus. i’ll probably be back, but i have too much looming over my head in the near future — school, reading, papers, rehearsals, concerts. love you all!
girl-non-grata asked: Thanks for your comment! You make a great point. Feminists really need male voices; it sucks but I've lost count of how many times I was dismissed (even by other women) as being "uppity" until a man piped up, then people stopped and listened. I think it's because people realize the man has nothing to personally gain from feminism and so that lends it some credence in their minds? Or maybe it's simple sexism, in that people just consider men more authoritative?
But, man, that contingent of young feminists on Tumblr are harsh. They will label you and when you try to defend yourself by trying to explain who you really are they accuse you of making excuses and seriously invalidate your life experience. Really, over and over and over again, it just seems like a group of people who are trying to demarcate themselves into an exclusive group; it happens with all kinds of people struggling to establish their identity. It's why people join gangs or churches, even.
you’re welcome! i would’ve gone on a bit longer, but i was a bit limited for space. it’s kind of stupid how it works, isn’t it? but i guess it’s beneficial in the long run. and, i haven’t really had many run-ins with feminists on tumblr; i interact with more on livejournal. oh, the joys of exclusion.
